New Delhi:
India’s second-largest online travel agency, EaseMyTrip, has issued a strong advisory urging travellers to stay updated on official guidelines and travel alerts amidst escalating tensions between India and Pakistan. This comes in the wake of a recent surge in cross-border hostilities, including drone and missile attacks by Pakistan, which were successfully intercepted by India’s S-400 air defence system.

The advisory follows Operation Sindoor, a major Indian military strike conducted in response to the Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of 26 civilians in Jammu and Kashmir. The Indian military’s retaliation targeted terror camps in Pakistan, including Bahawalpur—believed to be a stronghold of the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorist group.

EaseMyTrip Urges Caution

Taking to social media platform X, EaseMyTrip alerted travellers about potential disruptions and shared the following advisory:

“We advise checking your flight status and considering alternate travel routes. Our team at EaseMyTrip is here for any assistance needed. Stay informed, stay safe, and travel smart.”

The platform also highlighted that 27 airports were temporarily closed on May 8, underscoring the unpredictability of the current situation.

Another cautionary message posted by the company stated:

“Travel Advisory!!! Following the Pahalgam attack and escalating tensions between India & Pakistan, travellers are urged to stay aware. As Turkey & Azerbaijan have shown support for Pakistan, we strongly recommend visiting only if absolutely necessary. Stay informed. Travel responsibly.”

What Is Operation Sindoor?

Operation Sindoor was launched in the early hours of May 7 by Indian armed forces to avenge the mass killing of civilians in the Pahalgam terror strike. Over 100 terrorists were reportedly eliminated in a series of coordinated missile strikes targeting terror infrastructure in Pakistan.

Stay Safe and Informed

Given the rapidly evolving geopolitical situation, EaseMyTrip and security experts strongly recommend:

  • Checking flight and travel status regularly

  • Following government-issued advisories

  • Avoiding travel to sensitive border areas unless absolutely necessary

  • Staying connected with travel providers for updates and support
