Nissan Global Restructuring: Renowned Japanese automaker Nissan Motor Co. is reportedly undergoing a major global restructuring. According to Japanese media reports, the company is considering shutting down several manufacturing plants worldwide as part of its cost-cutting and reconstruction strategy.

One of the facilities under review is believed to be located in Oragadam, Tamil Nadu, India—home to the Renault-Nissan joint manufacturing plant.

Currently, this plant is responsible for producing Nissan’s only car on sale in India—the Magnite. If the plant is shut down, Nissan’s manufacturing presence in India would be nearly eliminated, potentially disrupting the brand’s future operations in the country.

The report has sparked concern among both industry insiders and consumers. As of now, Nissan has not issued any official statement regarding the matter.
