As Prime Minister Narendra Modi completes 11 years in office, BJP President JP Nadda held a press conference on Monday, highlighting the key milestones and achievements of the government since 2014. From economic reforms to bold policy moves, Nadda outlined the Modi-led government’s accomplishments across various sectors.

1. India’s Economic Rise

Nadda hailed PM Modi’s role in propelling India’s economic growth.

“In 11 years, India has risen from the 10th to the 5th largest economy, and IMF data suggests we’re set to move to 4th. We are now the fastest-growing economy in the world,” he stated.

2. Welfare of Marginalised Communities

The BJP President emphasized inclusive development.

“PM Modi’s government has actively worked for SC, ST, OBC communities and promoted Women-Led Development. From increasing maternity leave to 26 weeks to supporting Lakhpati Didis and Self-Help Groups, the goal has been empowerment.”

3. Poverty Eradication

Nadda claimed a significant reduction in extreme poverty.

“25 crore people have come out of poverty, and extreme poverty has reduced by 80%. This is the result of targeted welfare initiatives under Gareeb Kalyan programs.”

4. COVID-19 Management

He praised the government’s pandemic response.

“India conducted the largest and fastest vaccination drive globally, with 220 crore free vaccine doses administered. No other country matched our scale or speed.”

5. Political Culture Shift

Nadda said Modi transformed Indian politics.

“Earlier, politics was driven by appeasement and division. PM Modi introduced the politics of performance and accountability — politics with a report card.”

6. Jammu & Kashmir Initiatives

He credited the Modi government for historic changes in J&K.

“The abrogation of Article 370 was once deemed impossible. Now, Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in the region have seen high voter turnouts — a testament to restored democratic faith.”

7. Infrastructure Milestones

Nadda highlighted the completion of the Chenab Bridge.

“Started in 1995, it was declared a national project by Atal ji, and PM Modi ensured its completion and inauguration on 6 June 2025.”

8. Social Reforms

The BJP chief noted major social reforms.

“The abolition of Triple Talaq, the Waqf Amendment Act, and the Citizenship Amendment Act are among the many bold steps taken. Women’s reservation has also been a landmark initiative.”

9. Criticism of Previous Governments

He contrasted the current regime with pre-2014 governments.

“Before Modi ji, the system was marred by corruption and negativity. Today, the mood of the nation is optimistic — people believe Modi hai to mumkin hai.”

10. Vision for Viksit Bharat

Concluding, Nadda spoke of the government’s long-term vision.

“With the mantra of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas, the PM has driven development through policies focused on reform, perform, and transform.”
