In a now-viral LinkedIn post, an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi student shared a harrowing travel experience after being left stranded in the middle of the night due to a private bus operator’s negligence.
Manas Jajodia, the student, recounted that he was traveling from Delhi to Laxmangarh on a private bus booked via redBus. He had paid ₹900 for a single sleeper seat. However, the journey took an unexpected and troubling turn when the bus was abruptly halted at 2 a.m. in Rajasthan.
According to Jajodia, the authorities pulled over the vehicle because the bus operator had failed to pay road taxes for over a year. This left all passengers, including Jajodia, stranded in the middle of the night with no immediate resolution.
The incident sparked widespread discussion online, raising concerns about the accountability of private transport operators and the reliability of online booking platforms. It also highlighted the need for stricter checks and regulations to protect travelers from such unexpected disruptions.
