Actor-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut has firmly dismissed ongoing speculation about a romantic relationship with Union Minister Chirag Paswan. Addressing the rumours, she clarified that their bond is purely friendly and rooted in a long-standing acquaintance.

“There’s no romance happening”

Speaking candidly in a recent interaction with ANI, Kangana left little room for misinterpretation. She said that while the two share a warm rapport, it has never been romantic.

Her remark, both blunt and humorous, quickly caught attention online and effectively put an end to speculation that had been fueled by their recent public appearances together.

A bond rooted in familiarity

Kangana further explained that their connection feels natural and easy, rather than romantic. She described Chirag as someone she feels comfortable around due to their shared background.

She noted that their friendship carries a “familiar vibe,” especially since both have had ties to the film industry before transitioning into politics. According to her, if there had been any romantic inclination, it would have developed long ago.

Their shared film past

Many may not know that Kangana and Chirag go back over a decade. The two worked together in the 2011 film Mile Na Mile Hum, which marked Chirag Paswan’s debut in Bollywood. The romantic drama, directed by Tanveer Khan, also featured Neeru Bajwa and Sagarika Ghatge.

While the film didn’t make a major impact at the box office, it remains a notable link between the two public figures.

From films to politics

Over the years, both Kangana Ranaut and Chirag Paswan have moved into political life. Kangana has become increasingly active in public and political discourse, while Chirag continues to play a significant role in Indian politics as a Union Minister.

Despite their different career trajectories, their occasional appearances together tend to spark curiosity—largely because of their shared cinematic past.

Kangana’s recent work

On the professional front, Kangana was last seen in Emergency, a film she also directed. In it, she portrayed former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, adding another major project to her career as both an actor and filmmaker.
