Kapil Sharma, Neetu Kapoor & Riddhima Kapoor Sahni’s Daadi Ki Shaadi Locks Release Date; New Poster Out

The much-awaited family entertainer Daadi Ki Shaadi, starring Kapil Sharma and Neetu Kapoor, has officially announced its release date along with a vibrant new poster. Adding to the excitement, the film also marks the Bollywood debut of Riddhima Kapoor Sahni.

The makers unveiled the film’s poster on April 10, confirming that Daadi Ki Shaadi will hit theatres on May 8, 2026. After its theatrical run, the film is expected to stream on Netflix.

The quirky caption accompanying the poster reads:
“Daadi is breaking the internet — and the rules! Is the family with her or against her? Find out in Daadi Ki Shaadi, releasing on 8th May. Gen D to Gen Z — all are invited.”

A Unique Family Comedy

Daadi Ki Shaadi revolves around a fun and unconventional storyline—a family dealing with the wedding of its elderly matriarch. With humor, emotions, and generational clashes at its core, the film promises to be a wholesome entertainer that appeals across age groups.

The cast also includes Sadia Khateeb, along with supporting performances by Sarath Kumar, Nikhat Hegde, and Tejaswini Kolhapure.

Major Portions Shot in Shimla

Directed by Ashish R Mohan, the film was largely shot in the scenic locations of Shimla during a 40-day schedule.

The director earlier revealed that the project was nearing completion by late 2025, with only a few patchwork scenes and a grand finale song left to shoot. The climax sequence is expected to be a large-scale celebration featuring around 700 schoolchildren along with the entire cast.

Production Delays and Final Schedule

While most of the film wrapped smoothly, production faced minor disruptions due to safety concerns during a period of geopolitical tension. The team had to return to Mumbai, postponing a small portion of the shoot.

The remaining scenes, including an elaborate end-credit song choreographed by Ganesh Acharya, are being completed in Mumbai at locations like Film City and Golden Tobacco Factory.

From December Plan to Summer Release

Initially planned for a December release, the makers have now strategically shifted the film to May 2026, aligning it with the festive and family-friendly season around Mother’s Day.
