The Delhi government has officially declared Farhan Akhtar’s war drama 120 Bahadur tax-free in the national capital starting November 28, a move aimed at amplifying the film’s message of courage and honour. The announcement was made by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, who described the film as a powerful tribute to the exceptional bravery of the Charlie Company of the 13th Kumaon Regiment.

Released on November 21, the film chronicles the heroic stand of 120 Indian soldiers who fought against overwhelming odds during the Battle of Rezang La in the 1962 India–China War.

CM Rekha Gupta: “A Tribute to Extraordinary Courage”

Sharing the announcement on social media, CM Gupta wrote that making the film tax-free is a gesture to honour the extraordinary courage, sacrifice, and leadership displayed by Major Shaitan Singh Bhati and his men.

Key Highlights From the CM’s Statement:

  • The tax exemption is intended to encourage more citizens—especially students and youth—to watch the film.
  • The story of Rezang La remains lesser-known, and the government hopes the move helps spread awareness of a defining moment in Indian military history.
  • CM Gupta called 120 Bahadur a “fitting cinematic tribute” to the soldiers who defended Rezang La with unmatched determination against thousands of Chinese troops.
