Box Office Collection [December 16, 2025]: Dhurandhar Remains Strong, Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 Crosses Rs 9 Crore

Published

on

The Tuesday box office report for December 16 paints a mixed picture for Hindi and regional cinema. While Ranveer Singh and Akshaye Khanna’s Dhurandhar continues to dominate ticket counters despite it being a weekday, Kapil Sharma’s Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 and Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Akhanda 2 witnessed a noticeable slowdown.

Here’s a detailed look at how the three major releases performed on Day 12, Day 5, and Day 5 respectively.

Dhurandhar Box Office Collection Day 12

Aditya Dhar’s espionage thriller Dhurandhar remains the biggest crowd-puller at the box office. The film, which opened to a solid Rs 28 crore, witnessed exponential growth over its first weekend and recorded its highest single-day collection of Rs 58 crore on Day 10 (Sunday).

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Dhurandhar earned Rs 30 crore on Tuesday, December 16. With this, the film’s total net collection now stands at Rs 411.25 crore in India.

Despite it being a working day, the film registered a 42.88% overall occupancy in the Hindi belt, indicating strong audience interest and sustained word-of-mouth. Trade experts believe the film is firmly on track to cross the Rs 450–500 crore milestone if weekday stability continues.

Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 Box Office Collection Day 5

Kapil Sharma’s comedy sequel Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 continues its slow but steady run. The film opened to Rs 1.85 crore and showed moderate growth over the weekend, collecting Rs 2.50 crore on Day 2 and Rs 2.90 crore on Day 3.

However, weekday fatigue seems to have set in. After earning Rs 0.90 crore on Monday, the film collected Rs 1 crore on Tuesday, bringing its five-day total to Rs 9.15 crore.

While the collections remain modest, the film has managed to hold its ground amid stiff competition from Dhurandhar. Its long-term performance will depend heavily on word-of-mouth and the upcoming weekend.

Akhanda 2 Box Office Collection Day 5

After multiple delays, Akhanda 2 finally hit theatres and opened on a strong note, thanks to Nandamuri Balakrishna’s massive fan following. The film earned Rs 8 crore from paid premieres, followed by a Rs 22.5 crore opening day.

The film collected Rs 15.5 crore on Day 2 and Rs 15 crore on Day 3. However, weekday numbers saw a sharp drop. After earning Rs 5.25 crore on Monday, Akhanda 2 collected Rs 4.35 crore on Tuesday, marking its lowest single-day collection so far.

With this, the film’s total net collection stands at Rs 70.70 crore. Despite the slowdown, trade analysts expect the film to benefit from the upcoming weekend, especially in mass circuits.

Overall Box Office Verdict

  • Dhurandhar continues to dominate and remains the clear winner of the week.
  • Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 is stable but needs stronger momentum.
  • Akhanda 2 shows signs of weekday drop but retains solid mass appeal.

With the weekend approaching, all eyes will be on whether these films can bounce back or sustain their current trends.

Box Office [December 18]: Dhurandhar records lowest earnings; Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 struggles, Bha Bha Ba opens well

Published

on

Ranveer Singh and Akshaye Khanna’s Dhurandhar, which has dominated the box office since its release, recorded its lowest single-day collection on Day 14 (Thursday). Despite the dip, the film continues to enjoy a strong overall run, with its total India net collection standing at Rs 460.25 crore.

Meanwhile, the South Indian box office saw a fresh release with Dileep’s Malayalam comedy-thriller Bha Bha Ba, which opened to encouraging numbers. On the other hand, Kapil Sharma’s Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 continues to struggle amid stiff competition and declining footfalls.

Here’s a detailed look at Thursday’s box office performance:

Dhurandhar box office collection Day 14

Aditya Dhar’s spy thriller Dhurandhar earned Rs 23 crore on its second Thursday, marking its lowest daily collection since release. The film had opened strongly with Rs 28 crore on Day 1 and went on to record massive weekend numbers, including a record-breaking second Sunday.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film’s total India net collection now stands at Rs 460.25 crore. Despite weekday drops, Dhurandhar remains one of the biggest Hindi box office successes of the year and is steadily marching toward the Rs 500 crore milestone.

Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 box office collection

Kapil Sharma’s Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2, the sequel to his 2015 hit, continues to face an uphill battle at the box office. On its seventh day, the romantic comedy earned just Rs 0.75 crore.

As per Sacnilk, the film’s total India collection stands at Rs 10.85 crore. Despite the popularity of its lead star, the film has struggled to gain momentum due to mixed word-of-mouth and strong competition from bigger releases.

Bha Bha Ba box office collection Day 1

Malayalam actor Dileep’s comedy-thriller Bha Bha Ba opened to decent numbers, collecting Rs 6.75 crore on its first day. Directed by Dhananjay Shankar, the film registered a healthy 66.81% overall Malayalam occupancy on Thursday, December 18.

Positive audience reactions and strong regional support could help the film build momentum over the weekend.

Additional Insights & Analysis

  • Why Dhurandhar dipped: The Day 14 drop is typical for big-ticket films entering their third week. Weekday fatigue, screen reduction, and new releases have impacted collections, though the overall trend remains strong.
  • Competition hurts Kapil Sharma’s film: Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 is struggling mainly due to lack of novelty and the overwhelming dominance of Dhurandhar at multiplexes.
  • Strong start for Bha Bha Ba: A near 67% occupancy on Day 1 is a positive sign for a Malayalam release, especially midweek. Weekend growth will determine its long-term performance.
